Mixed Emotions by Dave V from Hammond IN
Sailing date: Apr 2010

Pros:
I loved the food, the service and the events planned each night. The beaches were beautiful, but I would like a little more direction on what to do outside the cruise center.

Cons:
It was one big sales pitch. Buy photos, more drinks (my drink is full, thank you for the 5th time!) lots of folks chasing you down in port. Also, I think they stopped putting alcohol in the drinks by Day 3.

I guess I will start top down. The mini golf on deck 11 was awesome. It was right on the tail of the ship. Dec 10 was the spa deck and the first day deals were great. I really enjoyed the massage and facial. Deck 9 was the Lido Deck. I thought the food was excellent, but the pools were disappointing. There are small pools that can comfortably fit maybe 20 people, and maybe 10 in the hot tub. There are 3,000 people on the boat. Deck 5 was where the action was. The casino was OK, Fun 21 and Face up Blackjack were interesting. But they put the used cards back inot the shuffler at the end of each hand. That was terrible. The Coffee shop was always empty but had some good coffee and milk shakes. The APollo Bar (Piano Bar) was excellent! Great sing alongs with the man behind the piano. Point After Disco was also disappointing. Too many TVs, not enough dance floor. And dance themed nights (70's, 80's flashback) lasted a half hour. Thats like 5 songs. The Palladium Lounge was phenomonal. Exceelent shows, games and comedy. My biggest surprise of the trip. The other bars were OK, but they are what they are, just a bar. No gimmick, nothing that stood out. The shops were highly disappointing. The duty free stuff was OK, but we are big people and could not find one article of clothing to fit. Really? I am a 2XL. That was ridiculous. The galaxy dining room was excelllent. Excellent food and staff. It truly added a touch of class to the ship. Finally, our staterooom was an interior on Upper Deck 6. It wasn't really too tiny, and it had everything we need.ed. Our room steward was outstanding. And, with the pitch blacness of an interior cabin and the rocking of the ship, I never slept better.Overall, I give the ship a B-.

BEST CRUISE EVER! by A Traveler from Boston, MA
Sailing date: Apr 2010

Pros:
never a dull moment, excurions, clubs, food, shows, everything!

Cons:
leaving =(

This was my first cruise and it was wonderful! The staff was always friendly and always making jokes. There was entertaniment every night clubs, comedy shows, singing, dancing, they had it all! The waterslide was soo much fun, but was sadly closed the last full day at sea because of winds. The ports were so much fun. We went swimming with the dolphins in cozumel, i would highly recommend it! In Key west we went kayaking, snorkling, and watched dolphins.(i wouldnt recommend this because the snorkling was horrible there was no coral and no fish. we were to say the least dissapointed in this excursion). There was soo much to do on the Destiny that we were never bored. I cant wait for my next Carnival cruise! this was a memory i will never forget!

Destiny is Great! by Lisa K from Monroe, NC
Sailing date: Apr 2010

Pros:
Service, Cleanliness of Ship

Cons:
Nothing

Service is great - from dining room to room stewards to pool bar staff! Had read some bad reviews and was a little worried, but I don't know what ship those people with the bad reviews were sailing on, but it couldn't have been the Destiny. We went during Spring Break - over 3,000 passengers with 1,300 of those being kids, and we never encountered long lines anywhere! I would go on this ship again tomorrow!!!

Great Cruise for the Money by Christina H from NY, NY
Sailing date: Apr 2010

Pros:
Dining room and Pool

Cons:
Kids Club was totally DISORGANIZED

The Ship was wonderful! The Staff were attentive for being totally FULL! The Dining room waiter was TOP NOTCH! It was first class dining!!! We have been on over 15 cruises. This was our first Carnival Cruise. The balcony room was bigger than NCL or Royal. The cabin steward made my son laugh everyday with his towel animals. The Pool waiters were funny and you could tell they LOVED their job! My only negative was the kids club. We waited in line for pick up and drop off for over 20 minutes each time we used the club. I have never been so disappointed in the staff!

Relaxing cruise! by Molly from Nashville, TN
Sailing date: Mar 2010

I had an interior room and was a bit afraid to walk into it, but it was wonderful-very spacious and we had excellent service! There are plenty of activities going on throughout the day and in the evenings. Service and staff were great. Only downfall was that there is not a lot of room at the pool, unless you get up early to get a chair. Will definitely be cruising Carnival again!

nice get away by Jody D from thunder bay, ont
Sailing date: Mar 2010

Pros:
Grand turk and half moon cay awsome

Cons:
ship getting older/beat up

This ship is a typical older carnival ship, nothing fancy but can't go wrong for the price. Grand turks cruise ship centre is basically a resort with a pool and beach front with shops free to use and clean, no panhandlers, excellent port. Half moon cay beats any island i've been to even better than meagans bay, also clean and private, this ia a tendered port i recommend bying the first shore excursion of the day so that they get you off the ship first.

Great Weather, great getaway by Lori G from South Shore, MA
Sailing date: Mar 2010

Pros:
Mini-golf, water slide, Casino, room service, size of room

Cons:
Food on Lido Deck, linens were dirty, service could use improvement, entertainment

Pretty "cheesy" or "honky tonk" lots of neon and glitzy lighting and the layout was horrible. This was my first cruise but from what I hear the layout is typical for Carnival. We had a very difficult time getting from one side of the ship to the other. Criterion Lounge was crapped- low ceilings and the location seemed to magnify the movement of the ship. Gym was gorgeous. Loved the layout of the Lido deck/track/mini golf. Overall it seemed spacious and relatively clean.

Slightly Dissappointed by Fred S. from Canton, Ohio
Sailing date: Mar 2010

Pros:
The crew is exceptionally friendly and helpful.

Cons:
The ship really shows it's age and the food is well below par as compared to other cruises we've taken.

Not impressed at all with this ship and the quality of the food. Public restrooms not very clean and the ship is really showing it's age. This was our first Carnival cruise and probably our last. Perhaps another ship and a longer cruise would show improvement, but I'm not willing to take that chance.
